Tech/Dress.Photo Opp!

She is here at last... Twankey hit the Stage

Today we finally managed to get a full run under our belts in costume and make-up and the lot! So now we have a rough time on the show and if things need chopping or changing that will happen tomorrow! I thought I would give you a wee shot of myself as Twankey, this is the wig I have had made by Anthony Kitcher, and dress by Melanie Mylie, they work beautifully together as my opening costume for Act II when I am working with Wishee in the laundry.

So today we did a tech run on Act II and then did a full dress rehearsal of both acts, we were also lucky enough to get someone to take some shots of the whole show so they will follow soon! :) Last night we did a tech of Act I which ran rather smoothly, a Tech run, for those who don't know is a run of the show, but we stop for the stage crew and the lightning and sound operators, as they have never seen the show before, they are learning the cues, and then they plot these into the script. So when we come to do a dress rehearsal which is everyone in full costumes, in theory we shouldn't stop, but if worse comes to worse, we will to change and swap things about! Tonight however things went very well!

Tomorrow we have another Dress Run in the morning just to iron things out, and then in the evening we are open to invited members of the public to watch our final dress rehearsal, so it is not a show per say, but it is all at the same time it gets very confusing!

So watch out for the pictures from the show they will be up on here soon!

Also this week we had a photo call at "The Local" which was a bistro come restaurant, they were lovely and gave us free Pizza, and on Thursday we will be going there for our Christmas Party! So a big thanks to the People at "The Local" for that! Here is a shot from my camera from the shoot...

So if you would like to come and see Aladdin and his wonderful lamp ticket info is on the flyer on my home page! It is at the Doncaster Civic Theatre from 16th December till 9th Jan!

Also quick reminder before I go to bed, as another long day is planned for tomorrow... Weakest Link...Me on it... 30th December BBC2 6.15pm!! Have a watch!!

Talk to you all soon... :)

Goodnight from one worn out Dame!

The Start

Well Friends!

Panto had well and truely started, I arrived at my digs on Sunday afternoon, and managed to do the whole run in one trip, Costumes, Wigs, Shoes Props and all, just about managed to get it all into my car! The house is ok, and I am sharing this year with my good friend Nigel Peever, and 2 of the girls in the cast, Leona O'Sullivan - Aladdin, and Melissa Parry - Slave of the Ring. I got to the house and managed to take over the whole room with my "stuff"!

Monday, was our first day of rehearsals and it went really well, I've now met the rest of the cast, minus the dancers who will be in to join us soon, and we managed to block the whole of the show, so now it is a case of working on the routines, and running the show to get it stream lines and running really well,

Tuesday we again ran the show and managed to have a chat and a sing song with the MD! Today went really well! We got to have a go at some of the routines Jimmy Cricket has put in, the show is coming together nicely! And I cant wait to get the show in the stage in font of an audience!!

Well I am sat back in the digs now, had a glass of wine and will be heading to bed soon, as we have a full week, and I need my "beauty sleep"!

Talk soon folks!

An interesting week!

Hey all, under a week to go until I start rehearsals for panto!

(Aladdin at the Doncaster Civic with Jimmy Cricket from 16th Dec 2010 to 9th Jan 2011 if you didn't know)

Lost has happened in the past week, I was contacted by a local Sunday Paper to do an interview! Which was very random, and later that evening the BBC contacted me asking me to appear in costume on a special version of the Weakest Link, Loud for a Living! So after a small audition over Skype (A new thing for me) I was told I could appear on the show! So I then travelled up to Glasgow to film the episode! It was a great day! And I met some lovely people. I cant tell you about the show until it is on telly, and as of yet

I am not sure when it will be on, hopefully sometime early in 2011, so keep your eyes open!

Also the Doncaster Light Switch on went very well, I got to work the crowed dressed as Twankey which was great fun!! Hopefully will get some pictures of everything up soon!

Anyhoo Talk to you all soon!

It's getting close Now!

Well loves, Panto is just round the perverbial corner!
Just thought I'd do a quick blog as an update! So here it goes!!

Dresses...I now know what I am wearing and roughly when I am wearing it... Mel my costume maker is busily putting the finishing touches to the new frocks I have made.
Wigs.. ALL READY!! Thanks to both Michael Batchelor and Anthony Kitcher this year for my selection of new Wigs, I will be wearing some from last year but have 4 new ones which are FABULOUS for this year!
Shoes..I have 2 new pairs of shoes! I've got to pick one pair up tomorrow, and am waiting for the other pair to be made as they are made specially for me!

Tomorrow night I am heading to Doncaster to meet the Honey Monter and the worlds most evil magician for lunch! Well I say that, the lovely Philip Knight has stepped in at the last second to help us out turning the lights on, he will be appearing as the star of the show and is very excited about the whole thing! And of course Mr Nigel Peever will be there causing trouble as Abanazar! :) After lunch we will head to the theatre to put our "faces on" and get ready for the big switch on in Doncaster. I have been lucky enough to be inveted to switch the Christmas Lights on, so expect some comedy and lots of audience partitty-pation from me! I am very excited and hopefully will have lots of pictures for here tomorrow... I have planned ahead this year and decided to wear my fur coat, as last year i froze!! hehe!

Last Night, I had a great night, I went to see Rocky Horror with Rob "the Rob Bagnall/Baggers" Bagnall and the lovely Carol, and it was really nice to have a RHS Virgin come along too, Phil, who I worked with on Scooby Doo came along to watch the show too! :) The show was fantastic as usual! If you have never been to a RHS, you really's a night out you will remember for a very long time! We met some of the cast after and I got my photo with some of them, after again...freezing my whatsits off! Ohhh it was cold!
Here's one of the maRocky Horrorny pics from last night!

Ready for the Show!!

Well I shall sign off for now, will give you a small update after the lights are turned on tomorrow!

Press Launch

Well these will hopefully now become more regular as panto creeps ever closer....

I am sat in what we call a "shed" at Pontins, Ive got some background music on and am trying to make it feel as homely as possible...the candles are helping slightly. I have about 5 weeks left with the Scooby Doo Tour which is going rather well! And next week I get some time off, and hopefully will get to try some frocks on that Mel has started making!

Anyway, last Tuesday me and Nigel traveled up to Doncaster from Brean. We had to be there at 11am so had to leave at about 6.30am to give us time to get there, all well and good, but we had a show with Scooby the night Camber (Hastings) so we didnt get back to Brean untill after a few Black Coffees we made it to Doncaster in one piece.

We have now met most of the rest of the cast which is lovely and I am now really looking forward to working with Jimmy, as he has to be one of the nicest people I have met, and a very funny man, if you get to come and see us i can bet you will come out of the theatre with a smile on your face.

So we had a very long day on Tuesday, once at the theatre we found out we had made it rather big in Doncaster (see photos in Panto section). We were taken to the dressing rooms, where me and Nigel Peever spent about 50mins getting into makeup and costume, normally it doesnt take this long but it was the first time in a long time we have done this make up and the first time I have done this face properly. Because Widow Twankey is an old washer woman I have to age myself, and with such a baby face ;) (I wish) this takes slightly longer than my normal dame face!

Once all the slap and costumes are on we went out onto stage for photograpsh and interviews with the Press (Jimmy was in alot of demand)
This all takes about 30 mins, and then its time to wipe it all off, pack up the boobs and fold up the frock, and then off to meet the rest of the cast out of make-up over a bite to eat!

We had a lovely day and will certainly have many more like it to come!

Thanks for reading, there will be more to come!
